Marcos Chapter 1

1 Principle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Son of God. 2 As it is written in Isaiah the prophet:

Behold, I send my messenger before thy face,

Which shall prepare thy way before thee.

3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness

Prepare ye the way of the Lord;

Make his paths straight.

4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. 5 Then went out to him the province of Judea, and all of Jerusalem, and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. 6 And John was clothed with camel's hair, and had a leather belt around his waist and ate locusts and wild honey. 7 And preached, saying, There cometh after me is mightier than I, who am not worthy to stoop down and untie his shoes strap. 8 I indeed have baptized you with water, but He will baptize with the Holy Spirit.

9 In those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in Jordan. 10 And straightway coming up out of the water, saw the heavens opened and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him. 11 And there came a voice from heaven saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I have pleasure.

12 And immediately the Spirit drove him into the wilderness. 13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days he was tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts and the angels ministered to him.

14 After John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 saying, The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent and believe the gospel.

16 Walking along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishermen. 17 And Jesus said to them: Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men. 18 And they left their nets and followed him. 19 had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and John his brother, also were in the boat mending the nets. 20 And he called them, and left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

21 And they went into Capernaum, and days of rest, entered the synagogue and taught. 22 And they were astonished at his teaching, he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. 23 But there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, he cried out, 24 saying: Ah! What have you with us, Jesus of Nazareth?Have you come to destroy us? Be who you are, the Holy One of God. 25 But Jesus rebuked him, saying: Shut up and out of him! 26 And the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, came out of it. 27 And all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying: What is this? What new teaching with authority he commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him? 28 But soon his fame spread throughout the province of Galilee.

29 On leaving the synagogue, came to the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30 And Simon's wife's mother lay sick with fever, and then told him about it.31 Then he came and took her hand and lifted it, and immediately the fever left her, and she served them.

32 When evening came, after the sun set, they brought him all who were sick or possessed with demons; 33 and the whole city was gathered together at the door. 34 And he healed many that were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons and did not let the demons speak because they knew him.

35 the early morning, it was still dark, he departed and went into a desert place, and there prayed. 36 And he looked for Simon and they that were with him, 37 and being told: All you want. 38 He said to them: Come to the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. 39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out demons.

40 came to him a leper, beseeching and kneeling down, he said: You may want limpiarme.41 Jesus, have mercy on him, reached out and touched him, and said: I will be clean. 42 And so he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was clean. 43Entonces strictly charged him, and then dismissed him, 44 and said: Look, do not tell anyone anything, but go, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a testimony against them. 45 But he went out, and began to publish a lot and abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could not openly enter the city, but was without in desert places, and came to him from everywhere.
